Caribbean Heritage Robert Nesta Marley Humanitarian Award

A humanitarian can be defined as an individual who has the courage to take decisive action needed, the wisdom to face aggressive challenges and the willingness to sacrifice to affect these causes that have a long term impact on the betterment of the community.

The legendary Bob Marley was not only the greatest reggae singer, but he was a global ambassador of peace, equal rights, justice, brotherhood and generosity. His philanthropic efforts and message of One Love echoed worldwide from his native Jamaica.

Nomination Guidelines and Criteria

Candidates for the Robert Nesta Marley Humanitarian Award need not be of Caribbean ancestry, but has a track record of making a positive impact on society with their time, actions and dedication either globally or in their communities.
1. The nominee may be an individual, a team of contributors or an entity
2. The work does not have to be done in the Caribbean
3. The nominee should be willing to accept the award
4. The nominee should be able to travel to California, USA to accept the award
5. A Letter of Nomination should be submitted, which:
a) addresses the nature and quality of the nominee’s humanitarian contributions
b) states the duration of his or her humanitarian effort
c) states the significant achievements of the nominee related to his/her
humanitarian efforts

Letters of nomination, vita, and all supporting materials must be emailed to caribbeanheritage@yahoo.com with “Robert Nesta Marley Humanitarian Nomination” in the subject line. Please submit nominations by 6:00pm PT, December 8, 2017.

Award will be presented at the Caribbean Heritage Salute to Hollywood & Excellence Gala on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Hilton Universal Studios in California.
